Ready to Renovate

STEP 5: Preparing for your renovation

Preparing your home for a renovation is an important step to ensure minimal disruptions and inconveniences during the renovation period.

In the event that you will reside in your home during the renovation, Navona will work with you to plan how the renovation will be executed to ensure you have accessibility to vital functions during construction. This may include planning around bathroom developments and temporary kitchen area in the event that these are rooms which will be improved and be temporarily unavailable.

Removal of your personal possessions will occur during this phase as well as moving of furniture, art and other items which may be in the way of the construction area or be vulnerable to damage. If required, we can assist you in setting up a temporary kitchen area, if you are remodeling your kitchen, by setting up temporary cabinets, work surfaces and sink.

A construction plan will be developed with your input to review the details of construction access, placement of bins, home accessibility and confirmed start date. We will then complete the preparations on our end, including hoarding off of areas which will not be renovated, placement of floor and surface protection and placement of the construction bin.

During this phase, we contact our suppliers and trades to confirm the arrival of materials and the construction schedule to minimize delays or postponements in construction.
